This morning our family witnessed a successful beach rescue, and it was wonderful to see a happy ending. An exhausted man with a boogie board was pulled to shore by a surfer. A lifeguard met them at the shoreline, and local police and fire rescue greeted them at the beach.
We’ve always been a one car family, and it is not about to change any time soon. Being a one-car family has saved us a lot of money over the years, and it has been one of the reasons why we’ve been able to pay cash for our first home.
We got up early enough to see the stars in the sky and before the roosters announced the day. The reward was a beach littered with seashells, corals, starfish and more – remnants from the storm leaving our shore. Continue reading “Saving Starfish on the Beach”
We survived Hurricane Hermine!
We’ve been watching Hermine’s path closely this past week, and it was with a sigh of relief that we saw the path move further and further north of us.
